A motorcycle defect could cause an accident

The roads of Texas are no strangers to motorcycles. However, this also means they are no strangers to motorcycle accidents. Sadly, every year, countless motorcyclists lose their lives or are seriously injured in accidents on the roads. Sometimes it is the result of someone driving too fast or while under the influence of alcohol. At other times it is down to weather or road conditions.

Does wearing a helmet affect your accident claim?

Most road users in Texas are used to the sight of motorcycles on the road. However, despite this, some still forget to watch out for these smaller vehicles. Sadly, this can often result in serious accidents, during which it is often the motorcyclist who pays the price. Some escape with only injuries and repair bills, but all too many lose their lives in such incidents.

Are motorcycle accidents always caused by road users?

As many motorcyclists in Texas are aware, the roads are not always as safe as you might hope. People drive too fast or fail to pay enough attention. Others are fatigued or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Whatever the case, it is bad news for anyone sharing the roads with them, especially motorcyclists. Having less protection than people in other vehicles, motorcyclists often suffer serious and even fatal injuriess if they become involved in a crash.

Operating a motorcycle can be a balance between joy and danger

If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, you may be all too aware of the potential dangers that you can be exposed to on the roads. Nevertheless, you may also have decided that the joy of riding is worth the potential risks. Furthermore, why should you forfeit a pastime you enjoy because others on the road may be negligent?

Riding a motorcycle is an awesome experience. You’re out in the open air, enjoying the scenery from a perspective that a car just can’t offer. But the things that make motorcycles so enjoyable are the same things that make them so dangerous. You’re completely exposed to the elements, and, even with protective gear like helmets, a meeting with the unforgiving pavement often spells disaster for the rider. Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to the inattentiveness or unawareness of passenger cars, whose drivers often show an unwillingness to share the road.

Texas pleads with motorists to watch out for motorcycles

In this beautiful summer weather, motorcyclists are out en masse enjoying the roads, but it only takes one second to turn an enjoyable excursion into a catastrophic tragedy. So, this year, the Texas Department of Transportation is putting a special emphasis on bringing motorcycle accidents down to a minimum. Through a new campaign, they are urging motorists to take a few extra steps to make the highways a safer place for everyone.

The retired Houston officer was killed in the motorcycle accident while his wife, who is currently an officer, suffered injuries. The young woman police believe was responsible for the fatal crash was recently out of jail on bond when she was once again arrested. This time it was for drug paraphernalia possession.

Fatal motorcycle accident in South Texas under investigation

For many people, driving or riding on a motorcycle through the rolling hills of Texas is a huge thrill or simply a chance to relax and unwind. Unfortunately, it also comes with many risks. Other drivers sharing the road are often not aware of motorcyclists near them. If you have suffered motorcycle injuries, there are applicable laws that may be able to help improve your situation.

Seeing may not be believing with motorcycles

The "Start Seeing Motorcycles" campaign has been running for years. Yet, every day in Houston, motorcyclist are witness to incomprehensible behavior by drivers of cars and trucks. They pull out directly in front of bikes, as if the motorcycle was invisible. This, of course, leads to frequent motorcycle accidents, which are never a good thing for motorcycle riders.
