Driver falls asleep at the wheel: Kills four

People are warned about the risks of drowsy driving on a regular basis in Texas and across the United States. However, a significant number of drivers and truckers fall asleep while navigating the roadways and in some cases, these tragic occurrences can end in a catastrophic accident, serious injury or death. These accidents are completely preventable, and sadly, lives are lost before people are able to see how dangerous drowsy driving really is.

In Crockett County, a driver who feel asleep at the wheel killed four people and serious injured one. The accident occurred during the early hours of the morning when the 32-year-old driver fell asleep. She then lost control of the vehicle, drove into the center median, rolled the vehicle and landed on the inside lane of traffic. Once the driver freed herself from the vehicle, she climbed on top of the wrecked truck.

Another vehicle traveling along the roadway did not see the disabled vehicle blocking the inside lane. He hit the car, killing the driver and injuring himself. The wreck caused the man to lose control of his vehicle, which drove into oncoming traffic. He struck another vehicle who was traveling in the opposite direction and killed the three occupants of the car. The male driver was the only survivor of the accident.

When reckless drivers make poor decisions on the road, it can affect a number of people. Those who have been involved in such a tragic accident may want to seek counsel from an attorney regarding their legal rights and options.
