Intoxicated driver nods off, runs into painting business

Many Texans enjoy having a drink or two to relax or socialize, which is perfectly fine. However, moderation is generally advised for any number of reasons. This is especially true for those who know they will be driving after drinking.

The fact is; the more inebriated a person becomes, the more likely he or she is to make critical mistakes when behind the wheel. These mistakes can prove very dangerous as intoxicated drivers can cause accidents, not only on the road but anywhere they navigate their vehicles.

It has been reported by Conroe police that a 21-year-old drove a pickup truck through a painting party company's place of business. Allegedly, the driver was asleep at the wheel when he drove through some bushes, jumped a curb and narrowly avoided striking an oak tree prior to coming to a halt.

Police on the scene contacted emergency services. The pickup was situated in such a manner that the police and EMS workers had to climb over its bed to get to the driver. Upon being removed from the pickup, the driver was unable to pass a field sobriety test. He had been charged with a DUI and placed under arrest.

Miraculously, a police officer said that no serious injuries resulted from the incident, and the painting party business was able to open later in the day.

This story demonstrates how drivers who are under the influence can end up driving in any direction, leaving other drivers and pedestrians in grave danger. An accident caused by a drunk driver can leave victims with catastrophic injuries.

If you or a family member has suffered harm due to the negligent actions of a drunk driver, an experienced personal injury attorney could work to help you get the compensation you need to cover medical expenses as well as other damages.
