Poorly maintained Texas delivery truck injures worker

Trucks are one of the primary delivery vehicles used by companies all over the world. It is the responsibility of these companies and the drivers of the trucks to make sure that their vehicles are always in prime shape. Proper maintenance is needed, and failure to maintain these trucks can result in truck accidents that too often result in loss of life and limb.

Maintenance issues pose risks not only to other motorists, but also to the drivers and passengers of large trucks. This appears to have been the case in an accident involving the passenger of a Texas delivery truck.

Even though the truck was known to have numerous brake problems, the issues were not fixed before two employees tried to make a delivery. The truck's brake reportedly disengaged, and the vehicle ran over the feet of one of the workers standing outside the vehicle. The accident left him with broken bones in his feet.

Fortunately for the victim, he was rushed to the hospital and is now believed to be in good condition. However, it isn't difficult to imagine how things could have been much worse.

Because of their size and weight, large trucks pose a higher risk of injury when not properly maintained. Many accidents throughout Texas also occur because of truck driver negligence. Federal regulations are in place to help prevent serious truck accidents, but drivers and trucking companies often ignore the rules.

Determining liability after a truck accident is often a complicated matter, given that numerous parties could be at fault. To help ensure the best outcome, plaintiffs in these cases should speak with a personal injury attorney with experience in truck accident cases.
