Crosby man charged in fatal drunk driving case

A Crosby man is facing intoxication manslaughter charges for his alleged involvement in a fatal accident that took place in September.

He is accused of killing a Texas woman and her son while he was chasing his wife. Road rage seems to have played a part in the chase, although it appears that the victims were not involved with the man, his rage or his wife prior to the fatal accident.

Witness reports claim that the man was recklessly chasing his wife’s vehicle when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle on FM-1942 and collided with the victim’s sedan. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her infant son died at a hospital.

The man was taken to a hospital, where blood tests allegedly showed signs of drug use.

This very tragic incident is a reminder that Texas residents can become the victims of car accidents at any moment. This is true even when a person is obeying all of the rules of the road and not driving in any dangerous way. As has been alleged in this case, the recklessness of another can still cause a catastrophic accident.

This is a wakeup call to anyone who believes that simply because they are a safe driver they will never be involved in an accident. It takes only one negligent driver to cause a serious or fatal accident.

If your loved one was the victim of a wrongful death due to negligent driving, know that you may be able to seek justice and receive compensation. While no amount of money can bring your loved one back, it can ease some of the financial burdens that come with the loss.
